What You’ll Do at Live Oak
Risk Assessment
  • Participate in client due diligence and transaction negotiations.
  • Attend client, bank, and other meetings to develop a thorough understanding of client companies, management teams, and industry sectors.
  • Use financial models to develop a forward-looking credit risk assessment based on key value drivers and sensitized assumptions.
  • Recommend appropriate credit structures relative to risk assessment and policy considerations.
  • Work with bank examiners and internal credit reviewers to validate credit quality and integrity of the credit process and comply with regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Lead and influence junior team members, providing guidance and instruction to ensure quality of various credit decisions, and fostering a diverse and inclusive team environment.
Underwriting
  • Apply project finance and accounting expertise to assist with developing appropriate financing structures.
  • Prepare credit approval materials, ensure all credit risk policies are followed, and present and recommend credits for approval at the appropriate level.
  • Engage and respond to third party professionals including attorneys, accountants, and engineers.
  • Analyze and negotiate financing terms and conditions as part of deal team.
  • Act as a value-added member of deal teams with loan syndications.
  • Review and negotiate legal documentation and coordinate with counsel to ensure terms are appropriate and consistent with credit approval.
Portfolio Management
  • Assist with the on-boarding of new clients and lead meetings and discussions with key stakeholders including client executives, equity sponsors, partner lending institutions, developers, and internal team members.
  • Engage with portfolio Manager, portfolio analysts, loan officers, and credit team to guide underperforming client accounts.
Additional focus areas
  • Sales support: help evaluate, manage, and prescreen deal opportunities.
  • Manage operational complexity and inquiries from both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay on top of trends impacting assigned industry verticals and participate in research projects as they arise.
  • Assist with building out processes and procedures and develop training materials, as assigned.
  • Complete various projects as needed or as assigned by management.
How You’ll Do It
  • Follow regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the detection and determent of unlawful activities.
  • Take ownership of your primary responsibilities and goal and pursue them with enthusiasm.
  • Conduct periodic client visits to obtain enhanced knowledge of clients.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations in various department meetings for specific loans or structure of credits.
  • Facilitate third-party engagements including valuations, appraisals, and field exams.
  • Exhibit a sense of pride in helping clients and teammates achieve their respective goals.
  • Exercise sound judgement; When needed, ask for help or guidance.
  • Communicate effectively to set and meet realistic expectations.
  • Complete additional tasks as needed by the specific lending team the analyst supports.
Required and Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five years of renewable energy experience (solar, battery storage, or waste to energy)
  • Proven credit underwriting and financial analysis skills, including cash flow analysis experience with complex, structured transactions, due diligence proficiency and detail orientation.
  • Comprehension of complex tax credit investments, loan documentation, and deal structure mechanics.
  • Knowledge of critical aspects of renewable energy project underwriting, including equipment and performance review as well as a baseline understanding of U.S. energy markets including regulatory structures, physical and synthetic forms of power agreements and derivative instruments.
  • Advanced knowledge of various types of loans, credit analysis, spreading and analyzing financial statements, risk analysis, and credit scoring.
  • Strong working knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities as part of a team managing multiple workstreams with cyclical workflow.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively writing/reviewing loan presentations that identify key risks and mitigants as well as conducting cash flow analysis and collateral evaluation.
  • Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of loan agreements, loan structuring, and collateral procedures.
  • Ability to consistently make timely sound recommendations to management while ensuring bank policies and procedures are met.

  • Dependable and exhibit a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing credit software to capture credit applications; above-average PC skills including MS Office Applications (Word, Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new software / systems.

The base pay range for this position is $74,000.00 – $158,000.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including location, travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.
