Project Finance Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Finance Manager is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and implementing project financing of solar and storage projects within the Clēnera portfolio. This role executes the strategy related to effective capital deployment, sourcing and evaluating financing structures inclusive of debt, tax equity and alternatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead sourcing, evaluation, selection, modeling and structuring of debt and tax equity facilities on solar and storage projects.
  • Provide recommendations for new processes, analysis and approaches that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the Commercial Finance Team.
  • Attend conferences, manager meetings, due diligence meetings and provide detailed memorandums for the Commercial Finance Team.
  • Serve as a mentor to analysts/associates who join the team over time.
  • Fully own modeling tax equity and debt assumptions and assist the finance team in modeling efficient partnership structures.
  • Own contract negotiation and loan document review ensuring all essential commercial details are accurate.
  • Prepare analysis and resulting reports to support business operations. Lead/oversee analytical expertise on a wide variety of business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, energy/environmental, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Capital Markets, Project Finance, and/or tax equity structures, or investment banking.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Finance in the US renewable energy industry.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Accountability in setting goals and timelines, proactively completing tasks, and setting clear expectations for yourself.
    • Ability to analyze complex data and situations to make decisions.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • High-degree of self-motivation with the ability to effectively solve problems with little direction.
