Senior Associate Project Finance – Mandarin Speaking

EMEA Syndications Centre manages, leads, coordinates and develops structured lending business and primary/secondary syndication activities within the EMEA region. As a Senior Associate Project Finance, you will be responsible to analyse, structure and execute Project Finance transactions, primarily focused on Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure sectors within the EMEA region. You will also develop and expand the Bank’s Project Finance business and ancillary opportunities to facilitate the delivery of strategy and business objectives of Bank of China London Branch and BOC Group. This is a full time permanent role.

Key responsibilities

  • Write concise business proposals and identify key credit risks. Lead and complete the internal credit process in line with the Bank’s policies and requirements
  • Prepare internal reports in Mandarin for Head Office providing business updates on transactions
  • Prepare financing term-sheets for Project Finance transactions and participate in deal pitching
  • Construct and review complex Project Finance models and key ratios and concepts used in them
  • Undertake regular market and industry research with a view to increase customer base in line with the Bank’s risk appetite and credit policies
  • Liaise and collaborate with clients, other departments or overseas branches of the Bank, and external professional counterparties to prepare, negotiate and execute appropriate finance documentation, ensuring the Bank’s position is protected at all times

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance or other equivalent
  • Relevant professional qualification is advantageous
  • Proven track record in similar department with sector knowledge
  • Relevant experience within the Financial Services industry, focus on Project and Structured/Acquisition Finance is preferred
  • Broad Project Finance/advisory experience with Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Power and/or Global Infrastructure is a plus
  • Good quantitative and qualitative credit analysis skills with exemplary financial modelling experience
  • An ability to navigate around and understand finance and security documentation, both bilateral and syndicated
  • Commercial awareness
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills
