About the position

Kinney Recruiting is assisting a longstanding client in the search for a mid to senior level Project Finance Associate for the firm’s Boston or Washington DC offices. This role is pivotal in supporting the firm’s commitment to the renewable energy sector, particularly in project development and finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US project development and finance, specifically with distributed and utility scale renewable energy projects. The firm is recognized as a leading player in the renewable energy industry and is dedicated to investing in this practice area, which includes providing tangible resources towards associate development. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in various aspects of project finance, including structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions, while also contributing to the firm’s strategic initiatives in renewable energy.

Responsibilities
• Support the firm’s project finance transactions related to renewable energy projects.
• Engage in structuring, negotiating, and closing project finance transactions.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project development.
• Conduct legal research and analysis related to project finance and renewable energy regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of legal documents and agreements for project financing.

Requirements
• At least four (4) years of experience in US project development and finance.
• Experience with distributed and utility scale renewable energy projects.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) from a highly-ranked law school.
• Admission to practice law in Washington DC or Massachusetts.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in working with regulatory agencies related to renewable energy.
• Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations affecting renewable energy projects.
